A Local Lens

Exploring the dynamic landscape of local government across the UK.

About Me

I am a postgraduate student, studying for a Master’s in Public Policy, with a particular interest in local government, regional and spatial inequalities, and the devolution process.

Local governments are a foundation to our democracy, bridging the gap between ordinary people and the state. They are tasked with delivering a wide range of services, that directly impact people’s lives, yet as pressures mount from declining budgets and increased demands, the resilience and innovation of local and regional leaders and officials has never been more important.

As a young person entering the world of policy, I aim to bring a fresh perspective to the debate. This blog is a space for me to reflect on and discuss the evolving local governance landscape, and what it may mean for people and communities across the UK.
